Bentley Brear Limited was founded in October 2002, by Robert Brear after 9 years experience as a financial adviser in various roles.
The Bentley Brear name has a great family history. Bentley Brear was Robert's great grandfather, a coal merchant and carrier in the early 1900's.
The Bentley Brear name was associated with quality and service throughout the 1st and 2nd world wars when the original business used to help keep local homes and industry going through the supply of fuel.
Robert started his career with the Prudential in 1993 at their Hebden Bridge office, training to be a financial adviser.
After 5 years personal financial planning, he recognised the benefits of the corporate market and completed a further 2 years as a corporate adviser . As his experience and consultancy skills increased, he realised that in order to give the best possible level of service to a growing client base, he would need to offer the wider choices available through the independent route. Shortly after, he joined an Independent financial advisers (IFA) practice in Wetherby for a further 2 years before setting up Bentley Brear Limited in 2002.
Robert has a BSc (Hons) degree, and also holds professional qualifications including advanced financial planning qualifications in pensions (G60), taxation and trusts (G10), pension simplification (CF9) and Mortgage advice qualification (MAQ)
Robert also following a programme of continuous professional development to ensure he maintains his competence.
He is also a qualified member of the Personal Finance Society (Dip PFS) and Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)
